Open Graded Meeting 6 July 2010

The athletes participating in last Tuesday night's open graded meeting had
to contend with a blustery wind (varying between +1.9 m/s and +4.9 m/s in
consecutive heats of the 100m, for example), but many went home content with
their performances. The home supporters were particularly pleased to see
M50 Alan Rugg record 9.53.72 in the 3000m. This time currently places Alan
11th in the national age-group rankings. After the race, Alan readily
acknowledged that the steady front-running of M40 Gareth Cavell (VAC), who
is his training partner on Tuesday nights at Ashton and clocked 9.51.71, had been of great assistance to him.
