Indoor Round-Up
Despite the snow frustrating the many athletes who were due to compete at the South Of England Indoor Track and Field Championships at Lee Valley, as the organisers decided to call off the meeting, there were nevertheless some useful indoor performances from Woodford athletes who were able to compete elsewhere and led by fine long jumping from Ezekiel Ewulo.
Competing in Kuldiga, Latvia, Ezekiel Ewulo was very close to his best ever in the long jump where he placed 2nd with 7.70m, a mark that sees him currently top of this season's UK indoor rankings. Competing at the new Emirates Indoor Arena in Glasgow, new member Conor Bradley showed good form over 1500m where he placed second with 3m48.51 secs, and Pajo Hamilton. recorded 4m00.38 secs Also in action at this meeting was Francis Smith, pleased to be back in competition free from the injury that held him back last summer he placed 3rd over 60mH with 8.65 secs and also 3rd in his 200m race where he recorded 23.12 secs. There was also news from the US of Sam Watts, who has just recently started studying at TCU in Fort Worth Texas, and competed at the indoor Auburn Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama at the weekend. He recorded a personal best over 60m of 6.97 secs, and then won his 200m race in 21.56 secs, currently ranking him 2nd on the UK lists
