There were some more encouraging early season outdoor marks recorded overseas. Racing in Waco, Texas, Sam Watts placed 3rd over 100m with 10.60 secs (-1.7), and 2nd over 200m with 21.16 secs w (+4.2). In South Africa and racing at altitude Potchefstroom, Jon Cook placed 3rd over 800m with 1m49.57 secs .
